On a global level power can be a number of things. Politically power is important to the society.

Country Power

For a country, the power of military is important for defense or to end something that could harm the country, or the world.. The leader has the control of the military which can defend the country or attack another country to prevent more threat

Economic power allows countries to influence others by giving aid or economic cooperation, or by building a strong military.

Knowledge, information and technology gives power to a country by building a big industry with modern technology run by computers and fast machines etc. The country can have sophisticated weapons.

Some countries have natural resources such as oil that give them power over other countries.

Person Power

Individuals also have power. Person power comes from one or more of many factors.

Position power comes from a persons rank or title in an organization or country. The examples are like the head of the military, head of state, and director of a big company.

Network power gives a person his power. Network power comes from the influential and powerful people a person knows.

Knowledge and special training gives people power because they have unique information and skills that are needed by many. Such people are like astronauts, scientists, or doctors.

Political power comes through the support of people and nations. Political power is when a person leads a country and has the support of everyone in the country. The people believe that the leader of a country will protect them.

Use and abuse of Power

Power can be used for general good or it can be abused for evil purpose. Power for good purpose includes when a country sends its military to protect another country, or a country provides economic aid and cooperation to another country.

At a personal level, some people have a charismatic personality and power of persuasion to guide people to the right direction. They can make people feel that they are worthy and help people out of hardships. The person can declare war or make peace with another leader to prevent any terror in the world. The people in power are usually well known and acknowledged.

Evil use of power is for example when a powerful country invades and colonizes another country to gain control of its resources. Within a country power can be abused through strong political systems like communism and capitalism.

Abusive use of power by a person is seen when a powerful person becomes greedy for popularity, wealth, and happiness. They use Their power to get what they want or destroy what they hate. The person is usually a cruel person and is only afraid of losing his power.

Example of a Powerful Country

America is a powerful country because of it’s strong economy, a large and strong military, modern technology, knowledge, and information, and its strong political system. All of this allows America to have influence over many countries.

Example of a Powerful Person

Gandhi was so powerful that he made the British leave India. His source of power was his moral authority, his message of non-violence, his charisma, and his large public following and support for his politics.

Technology is the help of machines in people's life. Technology helps people stay alive, discover new things, and get people's work done. Technology is very important to me because almost my whole life depends on it. The use of technology in schools help people but they can go wrong because some people tamper with them. The computers in this school are very slow and really frustrate people. The five most important technologies today are: computers, hospital beds, cars, phones, and USB pen drives. The least important are: iPods, noise-canceling headphones, Mp3 players, gas killers, and guns.

Importance Of Population Project

The three most valuable things about the population project was the way you learn the things and they stay in your head forever. The first time I recorded it sounded like that I had ten heads speaking at the same time. We tried it again but the same thing happened. The second time it sounded like I had 100 heads speaking. So I moved to another computer and it worked fine there. There were problems with the versions. At one point I used VC WEB but that caused problems. Some of the effects on PRO (which I originally had designed background, music etc.) weren't on the WEB which I first recorded on. So I move on to a computer with PRO on it. Everything went fine on that one.

AF Movie vs. AF Book

In the movie there was no Beasts Of England, and Jessie the dog got her children turned into the guardians of Napoleon. I would join if a country does attack America (especially India because their military has such crappy guns). I would also join if my father, grandfather, and other generations of my family had been part of the army. If i got a good gun (like an M16a1) I would definitely join the army. Not an AK-47 because they have a very wobbly performance which the M16a1 does not. Well enough about guns, I will mainly join if there are really harsh conditions happening in America.

King Coyle is Dead! :)

King Coyle (booo!), made us follow these rules.

A proclamation from his most formidable majesty King Coyle of Grade 8 unto his subjects in the land of M1.

1.All Indian Rupees are now worthless. I know this because the language that is spoken in the novel is Spanish.(Moeri 36) To be more specific, the novel takes place in Guatemala. I know this because Guatemala contains many tropical areas, and part of the novel takes place in a tropical jungle. Plus, there are a few volcanoes in Guatemala, and the novel shows that there are volcanoes there too.(Guatemala) Lastly, the story of Joaquin in the novel shows that he traveled through Mexico, and on the way back, he stopped at Stockton, a city in California. (Stockton) For all of this to be true, the novel has to take place in Guatemala.
Louise Moeri does not tell the reader about where the novel takes place because child soldiers are all over the world.

"Guatemala." Our strategy to claim the land was to claim all of the coast. Of the factors we considered were access to the water from the coast because if we wanted gold we could go to find some, but on the way back if someone else has the coast they're obviously are not going to give access. Without the coast, you wont be able to get the gold back to your country to sell it.

Id say Great Britain won because they had land inside Africa with minerals and gold and they had a way to bring it back home to sell it because they had land on the coast as well. The Germans were the next closest because they had coast and inner land, but not as much as Great Britain had. France got to much land, but too little coast. Portugal had all land and no coast. The Dutch had some coast but no way to get to the inner land with resources. Belgium had very little resources but no coast. Lastly, Spain had nothing at all, they had no resourceful land and had no coast.

Spain lost the Scramble for Africa because they had no resourceful land and they had no coast to get to the land (even if it was resourceful). Belgium should have lost because they had the most least amount of land but the were resourceful. Portugal also should have lost because they had lots of resourceful land but absolutely no way to get to them without confronting the countries that took over the coast.

Cartoon Analysis

The main visual elements are the footstep in Africa. In this exhibit we have photographs of Karl Marx, his family and his friend Friedrich Engels. Communism is a form of government thought up by Karl Marx and Friedrich Engels. Communism supports the elimination of private property creating a classless and stateless society. Everyone is equal; their house and health service is covered by the government. Everything is owned by the people through the government.

Communism has affected the way people think about politics and the government. Karl Marx criticized capitalism because he thought that it was making the rich man richer and the poor man poorer. As a solution to this problem he proposed communism.

Look at the photo gallery and see me if you have any questions.

The Great Communist Dies

Yesterday on the 14th of March, 1883, the father of communism, Karl Marx died. In the words of his friend Engels, "On the 14th of March, at a quarter to three in the afternoon, the greatest living thinker ceased to think. He had been left alone for scarcely two minutes, and when we came back we found him in his armchair, peacefully gone to sleep - but forever." The loss is terribly felt by all in Europe, communists in America, and the rest of the world.

Karl Marx was born in the year 1818 in Trier, Prussia. He was a scientist, a politician, a historian, a mathematician, and a revolutionary. He came to be known as the father of communism. His biggest contribution was to liberate the lowest social and economic class of the community. He supported the elimination of the private properties and enterprise. He felt that people should earn the same amount of money, and there should be no social class.

Karl Marx was the most controversial figure; many slandered him because of his revolutionary ideas. He just brushed aside criticisms and just proceeded to communicate his philosophy and ideas through his writings and speeches. Together with Engels, Marx developed a criticism of the capitalistic system in which labor was seen and treated as a dispensable commodity.

He was married in June 19, 1843 to Jenny von Westphalen. They raised a total of seven children but only three of them survived into adulthood. The family lived in poverty and they had to live in a three room flat in London. The source of their income was money that was given by Marx’s friend Engels. Marx also had a job of writing weekly articles for the “New York Daily Tribune.” Marx died as a stateless person and is buried in Highgate Cemetery London.

Zain Jafari

What buy low sell high has to do with the stock market is that you buy a company and wait till the year is over. Rockefeller founder of the Standard Oil Company. My goal in life is to make as much money as I can and use it to help people. Both of us want everyone to have a good life but in different ways. You are a communist who is supporting the elimination of the private properties and enterprise. I know you think that people should earn the same amount of money, and there should be no social class. While I understand that you want equality, I do not agree with your philosophy, because it is a wrong kind of equality since it is against basic human freedom and spirit of creativity.

I believe people should be allowed to make as much money as they want, and according to their talents, skills, creativity, and how hard they work. Not everyone will like your policy of communism because even those who do not work hard or are not creative will earn the same amount of money as those who are hard working and creative. Under your policies, there will be no competition which is important for people so they will work hard and economy will grow.

My policy of capitalism promotes competition and creativity, and protects human liberty and freedom of choice. All people will benefit from the economic progress in a capitalistic society. The money earned by rich people can be channeled by them to help the poor and fight poverty and disease.

I therefore urge you not to spread your philosophy which can cause political trouble, against basic human rights and liberty, and are likely to make everybody poor.

Yours truly,

John D. When the next car came I got in and said “Be brave Zain, this can’t be too baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa……!!!!!

I remember I could smell the sweat of my fear and some of the fresh air that was getting overpowered with the smell of sweat of others. I was so uncomfortable on the hard seats and being unable to reach the hand rails made it worse. It wasn’t a good sweat breeze going through my hair. The sound of the screams and rails clattering wasn’t really pleasant with all this fear. I saw all these obstacles coming my way but they always just missed me and that scared me even though I knew they weren’t real. I tried to look mean when I came out.
