Persian Gulf War vs. World War I
Thank you Ju, This is Zain Jafari speaking from .New Delhi, India
The reason for Iraq's invasion (1991) of Kuwait was similar to the start of WWI in the way nationalism was used to take over another country. Nationalism is the belief that you have the right to take land because it is historically yours. Iraq always considered Kuwait as one of its provinces because Kuwait was originally part of Iraq in the Ottoman Empire. Another similarity between the Gulf War and WWI is formation of alliances of countries to protect their interests. The Persian Gulf War was between allied forces of U.S.A., several European countries like Great Britain, and Middle Eastern countries like Saudi Arabia against Iraq to free Kuwait. Back to you Ju.
